Multiplier

A multiplier scales a defined prize, stake-based award or feature amount by a stated factor. Its value is meaningful only when the rules identify what it multiplies, when it applies and how multiple effects combine.

Identify the base amount

A 5-times multiplier applied to a ₹20 winning award produces ₹100. Applied to a ₹10 stake, it produces ₹50 instead. A display showing 5 times without its base cannot establish the payout. Some multipliers affect one line or cluster, while others affect the entire stage or feature total.

The order of calculation matters when several effects occur. A base ₹40 award with 2-times and 3-times effects produces ₹240 if the factors multiply together. If the game adds the multiplier values to make 5 times, the result is ₹200. Both are coherent rule systems; neither should be assumed merely from the icons.

Local and persistent effects

A wild multiplier can require the wild to participate in a particular winning combination. A cascade multiplier can advance through stages and reset on a new spin. A bonus multiplier can persist for a limited feature duration. Read the activation, scope and reset conditions separately.

Multiplier versus odds or return percentage

A prize multiplier does not state the probability of qualifying for that prize. A possible 1,000-times award can be extremely rare and still coexist with a negative expected return. RTP measures the whole payout model, not the highest factor shown on a screen.

Resolving an apparent shortfall

Record the qualifying base award, applicable multipliers, stage and cap. Check whether a factor applied only to particular symbols or whether the displayed total already includes it. Multiplying a cumulative number again can double-count the effect. Use the published calculation for the exact configuration rather than a generic assumption that every multiplier acts on the total balance.

Can a cap override a calculated multiplier award?

Yes, if the applicable game rules set a maximum and explain its scope. A computed ₹12,000 result can be limited to a ₹10,000 round cap under that rule. The order matters: a cap before a multiplier can differ from a cap after the full calculation. Record the uncapped base, factors and exact cap clause. Do not assume an account promotion's cashout cap is the same restriction; it can affect a later balance transition even when the game paid its own correct maximum.
