A pool may cover one game or a network of games. Its displayed amount does not describe the probability of winning it, and some advertised pools have separate qualification requirements.
Pool value and chance of winning
A progressive pool typically combines a reset amount with contributions from qualifying play. A local pool can cover one game or venue; a network pool can cover multiple participating games. Contribution percentages and eligibility rules vary. The displayed amount is the prize value at that moment, not a statement about the next player's probability.
Suppose a hypothetical pool starts at ₹100,000 and receives ₹1 from each qualifying round. After 1,000 such rounds with no award, its value reaches ₹101,000, ignoring other rules. This arithmetic explains growth only. It does not establish how the winner is selected, whether every stake qualifies, or whether the win probability changes as the pool grows.
What happens when a jackpot is awarded
The rules should describe the reset value, treatment of simultaneous events, prize currency and payment process. Some prizes are paid separately from the ordinary game balance. A displayed pool can also include several tiers, each with its own eligibility. A headline number for the largest tier should not be attributed to a smaller tier's trigger.
Fixed and must-hit-by prizes
A fixed jackpot has a stated prize rather than an accumulating value. A must-hit-by progressive has an additional award condition tied to a stated threshold. These are different mechanisms, and neither name replaces the full rule. Check whether the published RTP includes jackpot contributions and prizes before comparing it with a game whose return figure excludes them.
In practice
A displayed pool increasing between rounds shows that its value has changed. It does not, by itself, mean the next round has a higher chance of winning the jackpot.

Check qualifying stakes, the triggering mechanism, prize currency and how the pool resets. Keep jackpot value separate from winning probability.
