Profit-only and total-price formulas differ
Suppose ordinary decimal odds are 2.00. A 20% boost to profit changes the profit factor from 1.00 to 1.20, giving decimal 2.20. A ₹100 winning cash stake returns ₹220. Multiplying the whole 2.00 price by 1.20 would instead give 2.40 and ₹240, which is a different rule.
At decimal 5.00, a 20% profit boost changes the factor 4.00 to 4.80 and produces decimal 5.80. These examples show why the offer must identify what its percentage acts on. A phrase such as boosted by 20% is incomplete without the calculation basis.
Caps and eligibility
The promotion can restrict stake size, markets, number of legs, minimum odds or maximum extra winnings. A cap on the boosted portion is different from a cap on the entire return. Voiding a leg can change eligibility or trigger recalculation under the stated rules.
Accepted boost versus advertising
Check that the boost appears in the accepted receipt and whether activation is required. An earlier promotional banner does not prove that the account's wager qualified. A displayed larger possible return is still conditional on the selection winning and the promotion's rules.
Does a boost establish value?
A better payout than the same unboosted price improves that contractual return, but it does not independently establish the event's true probability or positive expected value. Fees, stake-return conventions and restrictions also matter. Record the original price, boosted formula, cap, accepted stake and final result to reproduce the actual credited amount.
How does a cap on extra winnings affect the example?
With a ₹100 cash stake at ordinary decimal 5.00, profit is ₹400. A 20% profit boost adds ₹80 before any cap. If the promotion caps the extra amount at ₹50, total profit becomes ₹450 and total return ₹550. The cap need not remove the ordinary winning amount unless the rules say so. Separate base return, additional boost and cap adjustment. Reporting only the boosted headline price can overstate the payout when the accepted stake reaches that cap.
