Ordinary cash-return calculation
At decimal 3.00, a ₹100 winning back stake returns ₹300 including ₹200 profit. If the selected outcome loses, the ordinary cash stake returns zero. The accepted price defines the payout ratio; it does not independently prove the event has a one-third true chance of winning.
On an exchange, a requested ₹100 stake might match only partly. If ₹60 matches at 3.00 and ₹40 stays unmatched, the active position is ₹60 unless more matching occurs. A win then creates ₹120 gross profit on that portion before applicable commission, not ₹200 on the full instruction.
Commission and stake type
An exchange can deduct commission from a stated net-winnings base. A bookmaker's price can instead incorporate margin without a separate winning-fee entry. Promotional stake-not-returned bets can also have a different winning return from ordinary cash. Identify the product before applying the simple formula.
Backing an outcome versus a participant
The selection can concern a winner, handicap, total or statistic. Backing team A to win and backing team A at a negative spread ask different questions. The team can win the match while losing the spread. Period, line and authorised result source remain part of the contract.
A precise settlement explanation
List the accepted selection, matched stake, price, outcome and any adjustment. Keep returned stake separate from profit. If a leg pushes or is void, use the relevant neutral treatment rather than calling it a normal win. Back is a direction of the wager, not a statement that its prediction is accurate or its expected value is favourable.
Does a back bet on a draw mean supporting a team?
No. Back describes taking the affirmative side of the selected market outcome, which can be a draw, total, statistic or another defined event. A ₹100 back bet on the draw at 3.00 wins only if that market's draw condition qualifies. The ordinary return is ₹300. Saying back the match without identifying the outcome is ambiguous. Record the exact selection and period so the wager can be settled rather than assuming the direction always names a participant.
