Deposit

A deposit transfers funds into an account through a supported payment method. Its amount, currency, fees and transaction status determine what is actually credited.

A payment instruction, completed transfer and available account balance are distinct stages. A deposit can be pending or unsuccessful even after a payment screen has been submitted.

Three separate records

A deposit commonly involves an instruction at the cashier, a payment-provider transaction and a credit on the receiving account. Success at one stage does not always mean all three are complete. A bank debit without an account credit needs reconciliation, while a rejected instruction with no debit is a different problem.

Suppose ₹1,000 leaves a bank account but the receiving wallet remains unchanged. Preserve the provider reference, amount, currency and timestamp, then compare them with the cashier history. Do not make another transfer simply because the credit is delayed. A duplicate instruction can create a second payment that complicates the investigation.

Amount credited versus amount paid

Fees, conversion and minimum deposit rules can make the credited amount differ from the amount sent. A ₹1,000 instruction with a clearly stated ₹20 deducted fee may credit ₹980. If a promotion requires a ₹1,000 qualifying credit, the payment's headline amount may not satisfy it. The relevant promotion and payment rules define the base.

Before authorising the transaction

Check the exact recipient, currency, supported method and reference format. For a digital-asset transfer, also confirm network and address requirements. Deposit acceptance does not prove that the same method supports withdrawals or that a platform is legally available for your location. A successful payment record establishes only the transaction it actually documents.

In practice

If a payment sends ₹1,000 but a disclosed ₹20 fee is deducted from that amount, the credited amount may differ from the entered transfer amount. The transaction record identifies the treatment.

What to check

Check limits, currency, fees, reference details and final status. Do not assume a successful payment screen also means a promotion has qualified.
